Hi, I’m SUSAN BRATCHER SMITH.

I have been a social worker and certified alcohol and drug abuse counselor for over twenty-five years. During that time, I have worked with veterans, hospice patients, community mental health, home health, and private practice. I am currently working with the Department of the Air Force as an embedded mental health social worker. I have also taught a wide range of social work, sociology, psychology, and addiction studies courses. I developed this model because I believe supervisees deserve more than a conversation and a signature. I believe that teaching and learning is a mutual experience that supervisors and supervisees share. I want to offer clinical supervision for the whole clinician, which includes mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness and education. I want to create an environment that creates clinical competence, inspires ethical integrity, and supports honest, reflective self-discovery that will benefit not only the supervisee, but the clients and communities they serve.

The Restoration Supervision Model is based on the belief that people can grow, learn from mistakes, and rebuild trust through accountability, reflection, and change. Supervision should create an environment where accountability leads to growth, where dignity and compassion are preserved, and restoration remains possible for clinicians and the clients they serve.
